About the workshop

A feature of the ‘TEMC Tuesday’ program, ‘Mindmatch’ networking is an opportunity to embrace not only the diversity but the similarity of our delegates and gain knowledge over and above the scheduled conference keynote and concurrent sessions – a form of ‘speed networking’, but on pre-identified topics of common interest to participants. Conferences allow us to make connections and learn from each other – we highly encourage delegates to participate in at least one of the three scheduled mindmatch networking sessions. At the final session for the day, we ask participants to come prepared to celebrate a win – something meaningful that they’ve achieved or delivered and that they’re happy to share that leaves everyone with good vibes as they head off to their evening activities!

Your hosts will be professional staff managers selected from membership of the TEMC Local Organising Committee

Who should attend

We welcome all TEMC delegates who believe in the value of their own experience and expertise and are keen to share it. You will be asked to pre-register for a session on the TEMC website and nominate your topics of interest and/or expertise, e.g. a description of a project you’re working on, a request to meet with people in roles similar to yours from other institutions, concerns that impact on you and your job – or come along for random matching on the day. Connect with like-minded peers one-on-one or in a small group, and find your community.

Workshop/Learning outcomes

Delegates will be empowered to connect over topic-driven conversations and meaningful exchanges to learn from each other, maximising your TEMC experience and taking home practical ideas and advice that can help you do you job – not just business cards.

Get advice on progressing your projects, seek opinions on a confidential HR challenge, initiate a conversation on conference themes or a topic from Monday’s sessions, troubleshoot a specific work problem, plan your costumes for the conference dinner, learn more about the sector – maybe even find your next job!
