Poster Preperation

A poster presentation is a visual display and an extremely useful and valuable element to a conference program.

A poster is prepared on presentation cardboard or other material.  It contains some text and imagery relating to the authors idea.  Photographs, diagrams and tables are useful as well.  There is no limit to the font size, type or layout of the actual text but authors must bear in mind that simplicity of reading and absorbing the information is important.   There are no guidelines for the layout, and authors are limited only by their own creativity.

Poster Defence/ Discussion Time

There is time allocated in the conference program for poster ‘defence’ or discussion.  All authors are asked to accompany their poster during this time (approximately 30mins). This session is promoted as an opportunity for delegates to approach the author of the poster and ask questions or discuss any element of the information displayed and will usually occur in the latter half of a lunch hour to maximize such an opportunity.
